I have been so busy with my project I've forgotten to post! Having a lot of fun creating new art! These two started off completely different. I put them down and came back to them months later. Now I like them!
Here are several more! The first has a shadow in it. I am trying to get another picture without the shadow, no success yet.

Still on track to complete my September project, but for some reason I feel this urge to clean. A LOT. So, I've been cleaning my studio. Back to painting tonight. I just feel best when I'm in that room, with my art supplies, creating, cleaning, chilling. Here are a few more from my September project!

Sept 5th Painting. I had worked on this painting a long time ago, but pulled it out last night to finish it. It's moody. I was moody. We were moody together. Now, I'm happy with it. It's still moody, but it's better. Much better.

September 4th art. I like the colors, but I'm not sure I like the overall composition. I may rework it a bit tonight.

I was lucky enough to score about 22 small frames for 10 cents each. Those frames combined with others I had on hand lead me to devise a September art project. My goal is to transform the frames with black spray paint and then fill each frame with a piece of art that I have created. Most will be on Yupo and will be mixed media. I combine alcohol inks, watercolors, acrylic, and pens. The first two images are alcohol ink paintings on Yupo.
The compilation of next images are all actually from one larger painting. It was also an alcohol ink painting on Yupo. First is the full painting. It is approximately 8 x 9 inches. It is very busy and too much for my taste, but...
But, what a difference cropping makes! I think I can cut this painting down into two paintings and really like what I have done. What is cool about my abstract art is that as it evolves, I can definitely see a style emerging, one uniquely my own. Thanks for listening! Amy Ed

I have been very lax in my posting this past year, but my artist life is up and running so my blog needs to start keeping up too! I just sold 3 paintings and I am thrilled! One was a commission piece and it was HUGE! 5 ft by 4 ft. I was terribly worried that I couldn't produce a piece that big since I work much better on a smaller scale, but I have to say, I pulled it off and I am excited that my client loved it. It's on Yupo, and is a mixed media piece. I used watercolor, alcohol inks and gesso. Although I was very pleased with the result, I don't think I will tackle something this large anytime soon!
Have a happy Labor Day weekend! Next week I will be posting about my September painting and framing project.

Mii2

My take on Mii2. I set up an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper and divided it into quadrants. I then subdivided those quadrants into strings. I tried to incorporate Mii2 in each of them. I hope you like the result!
